Some of the duties would be career guidance, social work, rehabilitation, abuse counseling and other psychological and behavioral issues. Some counselors will work with certain age groups such as teens, elders, or children. They may choose to work with groups, such as returning soldiers, or those who have physical challenges. The field is complex and can be stressful with long hours and some might even offer evening and weekend hours to compensate with clients needs.
